Yankees in Serious Talks with Bill Hall

via Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees are in “serious talks” with Bill Hall.

Hall posted a hideous .211/.261/.314 batting line in 199 plate appearances between the Astros and Giants last year. He’s claiming to be in improved shape, however, and he hit 18 home runs in 120 games just one season ago. Rosenthal’s sources say the Yankees are viewing him as a potential big league utilityman.
Hall’s best days in Milwaukee are not closer than they appear in the rear view mirror – but Hall has played pretty much every position on the field other than catcher at one point or another.  He is a versatile bench player with a bit of pop of the bench from the right side.

Would be a great signing for the Yankees. He would be a great backup for ARod if he gets injured or needs rest. A luxury to have as a backup.
