Jorge Posada Will Retire

According to Sweeny Murti of WFAN (via Twitter), says that Jorge Posada will announce his retirement within the next two weeks.

Posada spent his entire 17 big league career with the Yankees after being drafted by the club in the 24th round of the 1990 draft. Jorge batted .273 for his career with 275 home runs. Also, Posada earned five All-Star nominations.

    How could anyone like this. Will miss you Jorge! May be slowing down but still a great hitter, stay on as DH or coach! Those should be the choices ~ not retirement!!!

      staying on as a coach, would still be retirement as a player.  People like this because nobody wants to see Jorge in another uniform – and there is just no spot for him on the 2012 roster.  Wish him the best, and glad he’s retiring a Yankee!
