Game 30: Nova Like A Star

The fastball and curveball of Ivan Nova helped him pitch a new career-high of 7.1 innings as he held the Texas lineup down, literally. 16 of the 19 outs were on the ground spread throughout the infield. Ironic that the last time the Yankees faced Texas pitcher Matt Harrison, he got them to hit into 6 double plays.

Harrison could not keep the ball on the ground, especially when Curtis Granderson was at the plate. The Yankees centerfielder delivered 3 of the 4 runs of the night via two long balls.
